How to pay for your sober living

Paying for sober living Who foots the bill

How do I pay for my sober living?

Sober living houses  offer a supportive environment for individuals recovering from addiction, but one common question is how to pay for this type of housing?

  1. Many people believe their health insurance would cover the cost of their stay  - it's a reasonable assumption as studies have proven that housing is healthcare.  In other words it's very hard to get -  and stay sober - if you are homeless living on the street.  The reality is that because we are only a housing provider, we're unable to directly bill  medical insurance.
  2.
  3. Recovery from Substance Use Disorder often starts with in-patient treatment and then steps down to IOP or Intensive Outpatient Programs along with Supportive Recovery Residences which works in in tandem to keep the patient stable and in recovery.  We have partnerships with many programs that will fund your supportive Sober Living / Recovery Residence for both Medi-Cal  and private IOP programs.  Please call us at 619-500-3987 to discuss the programs that offer funding support in addition to the IOP treatment.
  4.
  5. Another common method to pay for sober living homes is to self-pay for the bed fee.  Because the cost for sober living is so much less than living on your own -- the "bed fee" covers the rent/utilities/internet/etc. the cost is significantly less than living in a rented apartment or home on your own in San Diego.  Not to mention the deposits, credit and background checks that can be a barrier for those in early sobriety.
