Successful transitions from Sober Living / Recovery Residences

Over the past few months, we’ve had the honor of watching over ten Empowering Potential Housing residents take the next big step in their recovery journey. Each of them reached a place of greater stability and independence, either qualifying for their own apartment or moving in with supportive family members.  Empowering Potential Housing Recovery Residences and Recuperative Care in San Diego is so happy to have witnessed their progress and grateful to have been part of their story.

One of them was a couple—one gentleman in our men’s house on Watwood and the lady in our Benson house. They got married while living with us, both secured jobs, and qualified to move into their own happy place!

These transitions are more than just a change of address—they are a reflection of hard work, resilience, and consistent commitment to growth. With the support of our recovery-focused community, accountability structures, and life-skills guidance, these residents built the foundation they needed to move forward with confidence.

Their success reminds all of us that long-term recovery is possible, and that safe, structured housing can be a powerful stepping stone toward a brighter, more independent future. We’re incredibly proud of these individuals!!

For those with Molina MediCal, Empowering Potential Housing can also provide a direct connection to Housing Navigation services to help them prepare for and qualify for an apartment of their own. This added layer of support ensures they are not only housed, but truly ready to sustain long-term stability and success.
