How much does recovery housing cost?
There are three potential ways to cover the cost of staying at Empowering Potential Housing:
- Recuperative Care: Eligible members may have their stay covered through recuperative care benefits. Recuperative care is typically authorized in 30- to 45-day increments. Learn more and see if you may qualify.
- Recovery Residence Funding: You may be able to work with one of our partner Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) providers that offers funding for recovery-residence bed fees. Funding availability, eligibility requirements, and approval decisions are determined directly by each IOP provider.
- Self-Pay: Self-pay residents pay a low $100 move-in fee, plus a monthly bed fee ranging from $700 to $1,200. Weekly payment options may be available when needed. Please contact us to discuss current availability and payment arrangements.
Do you require a credit check?
No. Empowering Potential Housing does not require a credit check for residential recovery housing. Call 619-500-3987 to discuss the next step.
What is included in each home?
Every home includes furnished shared rooms, welcoming common areas, high-speed internet, TV, bed sheets, cookware, dishes and free on-site laundry. Utilities are included in the monthly rate; meals are included for recuperative care residents only. All homes have toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, dishes and pots and pans. In other words, all you have to bring is clothes and toiletries.
Do men and women live together?
EPH has homes for men and women separately. Placement depends on the home and current availability, so call 619-500-3987 to talk through the right fit.
What recovery programs do you support, and what are the house rules?
Our homes are abstinence-forward and centered on peer support and a strong recovery community. Residents may choose AA, NA, SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery, Celebrate Recovery or another recovery path; current testing, curfew and house-rule details should be confirmed with EPH before move-in and are located in the Form 2 Family Resident Agreement.
Do you work with insurance, Medi-Cal, Molina or Kaiser?
For recuperative care, EPH works with Molina and Kaiser Medi-Cal. Residential recovery housing has separate self-pay pricing, and EPH may be able to connect clients with intensive outpatient treatment programs (IOPs) that help cover housing costs.
What is recuperative care, and who qualifies?
Recuperative care is for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and have significant medical needs. Services include daily wellness checks, clinical documentation, provider referral support, care plans with clinical oversight, healthy food options, referrals to IOP and mental-health programs, and housing navigation.
What if I cannot afford sober living?
Call us. EPH helps connect clients with programs that may fund sober living while they attend substance use disorder treatment, and affordable self-pay options are also available.
How do I get in, and is there availability?
